More About
There are more chamber ensembles out there than you can shake a fiddlestick at, but few are more delightful than the Vienna Piano Trio. Crowned the Beaux Arts Trio of the 21st century, the boys from Wien have been lauded for their phenomenal and electrifying playing, as well as their virtually telepathic gifts of musical communication, and this week theyll be displaying those talents in a performance of Mozarts Trio in B-flat major, K. 502 and Schuberts Trio in B-flat major, Op. 99, D. 898 both elegant, delightful works shimmering with Viennese charm. But perhaps the biggest thrill of the day will be the Chamber Music in Historic Sites venue the awesome Henry residence in Pasadena. Located on a two-acre wooded bluff, the estate includes a modest little 10,000-square-foot main house, designed by architect Barry A Berkus in 1994 as a moderne homage to Old Pasadena manor architecture, and numerous private gardens and pool sites. In short, the perfect place to listen to Mozart and Schubert and eat your heart out. Henry residence, Pasadena (address provided to ticket holders); Sun., Oct. 19, 2 & 4 p.m.; $94.
