The Crystal Method, J-Boogie, King Most and Jeremy Sole

L.A. duo the Crystal Method haven’t had a whole lot of time to tackle club turntables while working on their forthcoming studio album (expected out in early ’09) and a weekly Friday night radio show (Community Service on Indie 103.1), but that’s all changing with their latest tour, which kicks off this week, first in the O.C. and S.D. and then right here in their hometown. We expect the epic dance mixes and beat blitzes that made TCM’s Ken Jordan and Scott Kirkland biggies in the electronic scene and beyond, plus samplings — or at least some snippets — of the new stuff, and mind-blowing rock-influenced surprises, too. A jazzier dance jam will be had at the monthly Soul Sessions shindig in Chinatown, which celebrates four years and counting with a guest set from Om Records’ J-Boogie (his Dubtronic Science release “Soul Vibrations” is brimming with old-school hip-hop mojo). Along with fellow Frisco funkster King Most and local groover Jeremy Sole, this session should be especially jubilant.
