Unbalancing Acts

The survey of the work of the director best known for his Qatsi trilogy exploring the "epic clash between the natural and man-made worlds" begins with a 25th anniversary screening of Koyaanisqatsi (1982), the most well-known part of the Qatsi trilogy, deriving its title from the Hopi word meaning "life out of balance" and examining the divide between technology and the environment, all cut against a haunting Philip Glass score. Plus, Reggio's short Evidence (1995), a frightening look inside children's time with TV. Then, Reggio explores the animal kingdom in Anima Mundi(1992). Discussion between screenings with Godfrey Reggio.
