The 2008 L.A. County Fair is in town — if your idea of "town" is 90 minutes away by freeway. It's hot, it's far ... but you will find more deep-fried food on a stick than anywhere else, plus real animals, rides, eco-crap, garden displays — you know, like a county fair. New this year is Spam — God bless America! Bands include War, the Bangles, Sugarland, the Doobie Brothers and loads more (tickets extra).
