Flowering Flamenco

By Ann Haskins

For more than three years, the popular Forever Flamenco series has allowed fans to get up close and personal in this cozy theater on the first and third Sundays of each month. Producers Deborah Lawlor and Ben Bradley, along with the rotating roster of artistic directors, deserve kudos as they continue to host some of the best dancers, singers, percussionists and guitarists from L.A.’s vibrant flamenco community as well as guest artists from Spain. This month an extra show has been added, populated with some familiar faces — and feet: dancers Fanny Ara, Mizuho Sato and Briseyda Zarate, guitarist Jose Tanaka, percussionist Gerardo Morales and singer Jesus Montoya.
