Captainowow 02/19/2012 7:11:00 PM
Sterling full page add in Sunday La TImes? So I am confused with this marketing staff. Does the hooker come with a lease agreement? or is she ( or anyone else of that caliber) part of the overall deal?

What a pc of CRAP he is. Besides the bitch wife, anyone working for him is pathetic and desperate. Water seeks it's own level. If you work for him, you're crap too. EVERY other owner in the NBA can't stomach the guy. What a shameful waste of a being.

Met this guy several times through a very good friend of mine who happens to be related to Sterling. At one time I questioned the validity of the comments, but no more. Now I question his sanity and the lady that stays married to him. One of the Son's really did try and murder his best friend and got off, totally! CRAZY.

was just emailed all of this. I worked for the sick fuck in his Beverly Hills offices. Donald Sterling is the most disgusting being I've ever met. He wouldn't take his hands off of me and would continually trap me in the elevator alone . He would go after every girl in the office with the same filthy hands. Don't know about him and his Mother but knew about JoAnn, the daughter and how he threatened her. There's a cousin that shed some light on how disgusting he was with her, even though related. Donald is hated and feared in those offices. he needs be confined by himself Who is doing the Bio? would love to participate.

the truth about the sterlings is;
all the kids were adopted and it's possible dts is the father. the youngest son, scott, is a gangbanger that deals narcatics from his daddy's bldg., shot his best friend (gun). the daughter was arrested by the FBI for forging checks for her boyfriend who was wanted for murder. DTS actually threatened to kill his own daughter. all the kids were beaten by the hands of rochelle sterling. DTS never comes home to his kid beating wife on the weekends, tries to fuck anything and anyone, (even his own relatives), has drugs from day 1. DTS's own Mother threw gave him up to an orphanage as a kid and can't say I blame her.

Slumlord Billionaire - Donald Sterling's Long Beach Towers, 600 E Ocean Blvd in Long Beach overlooks the 35th running of the Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach. A 91-unit rental apartment building, Slumlord Billionaire charges guests of Tenants $20 per day per guest for the three days of the event to access the building. Wow! What a buzz kill. Leave it to a racist sexual deviant faux humanitarian to continue running fine properties and people to the ground! In the works of Al Goldstein, Fuck You Donald T for (Tokowitz) Sterling, you nazi jew scum bag!
-
Robert 03/02/2009 3:15:00 AM
I find it amazing that people like Don and Rochelle Sterling play them selfs off as caring about the "Children" when there own son abandons his child and becomes a deadbeat dad. The apple doesnt fall far from the tree in that family (family!! what a joke) If the Sterlings cared about homeless children maybe they should start with there own grandchild!!! But I guess when you are the scums of the earth things like paying skanky hookers are far more important...

Thank you, Thank you, Thank you! This type of article is needed in this city. It's very obvious why it's important to have a robust and free media, after this extremely obvious example of selective "journalism" by the LA Times.
Let's face it, the Times isn't going to bite the hand that feeds them. Where are the cries for journalistic integrity? *** crickets ***
I have been seeing these self-aggrandizing Sterling ads for years, and was waiting for someone to say something.
Good job, keep up the good work.

Very good investigative reporting.
What a scumbag! Now we know why the Clippers are the laughing stock of the NBA. With that kind of integrity and character in a local billionaire, the City of Angels will never be able to improve its image.

Your article although very informative on several points about Sterling, but it does a disservice to Davenport, and the people she was standing up for. Her case had more points and evidence of wrongdoing than just a sex harassment suit. I saw the evidence about her standing up against tenant discrimination and abuse (including Mrs. Jones) and discrimination in hiring practices. Did you know that Sterling had zero black managers in his buildings until two weeks into Davenports trial? She had shown evidence he didnt hire black managers and suddenly one gets hired and admits to just being hired. Visit LA Country court records and view the evidence for yourself. Not only hers but the dozens of others who have sued Sterling. Trial evidence is now public domain. But these case records and evidence are alarming and yet he continues to get away with this stuff. This is what documentaries are made of.

****Donald Sterling has done more for the City of Los Angeles through tax revenue than any armchair General here. That's a fact. ****
Bullshit. The taxes would have to be paid no matter who owns the properties.

Holy smokin' article. I had never heard of Mr. Sterling before today, but it all makes sense. Brilliant work. It reminds me of high-school biology. I didn't kill the specimen. They just handed me the blade, and said "open him up." What's an honest man supposed to do?
-
westman69 03/25/2008 4:43:00 PM
Not supprising coming from a man who for years had his Father accompany the guy who collected coins from the laundry machines to make sure he didn't pocket a quarter or two.
Or the time he got pissed (during one of his daily wine guzzeling sessions) at cars parking in front of his BH buildings, bought a case of red spray paint and he and a few employees spent the wee hours of the morning spraying gray curbs red.
Or the man who single handedly brought rent control to BH by raising rents EVERY month for awhile there.
All true. I could write a book.

Shawn Hill 03/24/2008 8:35:00 PM
I hate to admit here, especially lately, that I am a Clippers fan. That however that doesn't change the fact that Donald Sterling is a no-good bastard. Some of these stories, other the racism discrimination suit and the Castro suit, I really didn't have an idea about.
No one can really be surprised that The Times has playing up Sterling and his funny-looking, but atrocious ads. Let's not forget that many Clippers games are carried by KTLA Channel 5, which is also co-owned with the Los Angeles Times. It could, although not directly, have something to do with the "media blackout" by the Times.
In all, this was an excellent piece written by Mr. McDonald.

bwunderlick 03/24/2008 4:22:00 AM
Thank you for this important article that the LA Times and other major media sources in this city don't feel the need to cover. What kind of low life gives himself awards for humanitarian of the year and doesn't even follow through on actually helping others?
All though all the lies Sterling is telling about "helping the children" are good to get out to the light of day, the real story here is how terrible the LA Times is. If they think the future is more and more local coverage, uh....why not cover this local scandal?! We all know why they don't, I'm just saying.
-
barkleyg 03/23/2008 2:20:00 AM
I live in L.A., and I know for sure, that Sterling use to get FREE ad space in the L.A. Times because of all the ads that his R.E. companies bought advertising his various apartment buildings. Sterling has NEVER sold a piece of property that he has bought. He is the single biggest landowner in Beverly Hills.
All of that said, he is a real POS, always trying to take the cheap way out(free ads saluting himself) and a disgrace to the human race. Other than that, I got nothing against the bum!
-
Patrick Range McDonald 03/23/2008 1:05:00 AM
Yes, reliable sources told me LA County Supervisor Gloria Molina and LA City Councilwoman Jan Perry were both victims of Sterling placing their photos in his ads without permission. Many people, though, don't mind because of the free publicity in the A-section of the LA Times.
-
Jack Kerouwack 03/23/2008 12:33:00 AM
Can't remember where I read it, but after one of those "humanitarian of the year" ads came out, one of the guys in the headshots said he knew nothing about the award ceremony and he certainly didn't consent to have his mug published as part of the lineup.
-
Evan 03/22/2008 6:40:00 PM
What an article. Great job to Patrick Range McDonald, and to Mr. Fish as well.
This is the kind of journalism we need more of in this city, and we're obviously not going to get it from the Times when it comes to Sterling. My confidence in the Weekly had been weakening lately, so I'm glad to see stuff like this back in the paper.
Mr. Fish's illustrations were great as always, perfectly capturing Donald Sterling's creepy visage and his unstoppable egoism.
-
Patrick Range McDonald 03/22/2008 9:07:00 AM
Thanks for all of your comments. That's a good point about the LA Times running the ads without first checking if they're false. But a former business associate of Sterling's, who has firsthand knowledge of these things, told me there's no way the Times will reject one of his ads because he's an important source of revenue for the paper, and they don't want to lose his business, especially not now.
-
Jack Kerouwack 03/22/2008 2:27:00 AM
Great story ... let's be honest, a lot of days the Donald Sterling ads are the most interesting thing in the LAT.

Well, this Sterling guy certainly comes across as quite a rogue, but I wonder if there's some poor little kid out there who's traumatized because McDonald describes her as a "a little redheaded girl, who looks as if shes a demented extra from the old horror flick Children of the Corn."

This article re Donald Sterling is great. I'm curious why nothing about LA Times culpability in running these ad's so blindly is mentioned? It seems almost conspiratorial for them to be running and running and running these ads w/out ever asking what the deal is? I guess it's not that hard to believe...sub-standard rags like the LA Times do need the ad dollars after all. But it's very sad that the cheek is turned so easily... and complicitously
-

I speak for everyone when I say that Donald Sterling does have a $50 million homeless shelter...it's called the Clippers! Man do they suck. The Clippers should be demoted to the NBDL.
