In Our Own Words: South L.A. Youth Create Neighborhood Walking Tours is a fantastic program that rose out of the Southern California Librarys V-Map neighborhood mapping project. Local high school students will take you on a one-mile walk around the Vermont Corridor. Its a chance to see an often overlooked area and learn about its history and how its changing. What does it take to become an astronaut of your own psyche? That is the question posed by Circo de Poesia, the organizers of Psychonauts. If youre familiar with Carl Jungs theory of personality, you have a head start as to what this 24-hour event that aims to tickle attendees curiosity about the labyrinths, archetypes, symbols and dreams that lurk inside their own psyche is all about.
