Touch of Class, Spark of Fire

The two NYC DJs who make up A Touch of Class bring their disco-punk pizzazz to L.A. this week. Raucous remixers Oliver Stumm and Domie Clausen get three chances to touch listeners with their raw yet adroit tech stylings. Their latest release, with dance faves from the likes of Le Tigre, Scissor Sisters and the Gossip, is titled A Touch of Class Still Sucks! — and they do .?.?. suck ya in, that is, with robot jams, glitter funk and new-wave prance. With so many influences and moods, expect each ATOC gig (one at a warehouse party, one at a swanky rooftop bar and lastly at a Westside rhythm den) to be in a class by itself. The Black Disco Social; Sat., April 14; www.blackdisco.net. The Standard, 550 S. Flower St., dwntwn.; Wed., April 18; (213) 892-8080. And Zanzibar, 1301 Fifth St., Santa Monica; Fri., April 20; (310) 451-2221. www.atouchofclassusa.com.

Also, fans of Deep Dish will want to check out Dubfire (one half of the duo) spinning at Giant. While he’s known for epic trance-house melds, his latest solo mixture for Global Underground, Taipei GU31, shows off diverse influences and more nuanced tastes, including cuts from Depeche Mode and Nitzer Ebb. Dub will fire up the new ones for sure — and if he’s feeling deep-ish, some of his well-known floor shakers too. 6021 Hollywood Blvd., Hlywd.; Sat., April 14. (323) 463-3331 or www.giantclub.com.
