Touched by a Virgin

Celebrating the lead up to this weekend’s 475th anniversary of the Virgin of Guadalupe’s visits with St. Juan Diego back in 1531, Mexican Catholics all over Los Angeles came out to Olvera Street’s La Placita Church to see a “peregrina” image of Our Lady of Guadalupe. It’s a digital reproduction of the original image displayed in Mexico City’s cathedral — but not just any digital image. This one has been touched by the Mexican relic and is believed by many to have powers straight from the Virgin.
