Rockie Horoscope

The post-holiday prospects look good; positive changes follow from the sun's trine to progressive Uranus, plus no aspect gets us higher, either spiritually or romantically, than the exalted Venus-Neptune trine that's exact on Sunday. The conscientious, constructive Capricorn full moon Monday night should bring your personal Cancer new-moon agenda to a head, as well as further illuminate the nature of the love you felt over the weekend. Mercury re-enters Cancer on Monday for more family- and food-centered trips down memory lane. If that's what it takes to make us feel safe, so be it.

It can't be helped; like Prince Charming's kiss, summertime re-awakens relationships that have lain dormant since Christmas. While the sun travels through the "womb to tomb" area of your chart ??? plus, this year retrograde Mercury digs up childhood memories ??? it'll be hard not to be more involved with the relatives. Luckily for the athletically inclined and entertainment-oriented, by cavorting through the zone that governs recreation, romance and risk, your Mars ruler gives permission to get out of the house and amuse yourself elsewhere.

If variety truly is the spice of life, you're in for one tasty July. While it transits mobile Gemini, your Venus ruler can transport you to aesthetic highs when she aligns with artistic Neptune; a week later, you could be wallowing in Pluto's pits of passion. After Venus enters Cancer on the 18th, one favorable experience follows another. It starts with Venus' trine to gift-giving Jupiter in your Scorpio house of partners and ends by hooking you up with unconventional Uranus in your house of friends and colleagues as the month ends.

As long as your Mercury ruler is retrograde in your Cancer money house, postpone making any financial decisions bigger than a breadbox. By all means, do the research, but no computer, no car until Mercury goes direct on the 28th. If you want to play it really safe, no major transaction until August 11, after Mercury is back in Leo. However, with magnetic Venus in Gemini until the 18th, there'll be plenty of diversions available for your enjoyment. Along with the visual and musical highs, you're due for an intense encounter with sexy Pluto in your house of partners.

The upside to having Mercury retrograde in your sign becomes evident when the Messenger merges with the Cancer sun on the 18th. This affirmation of all things Crab, particularly the ancient wisdom that is a benchmark of your sign, should see you through the rest of the year. Before that night is over, you may notice that the folks checking you out are increasingly responsive to the vibes you're emitting. Could it be because magnetic Venus has entered your sign, making you an irresistible object of desire until August 12?

A surge of power ??? not to be confused with a simple ego trip ??? as energetic Mars in your sign allies with intense Pluto on the 14th. Make the most of whatever advantage you gain, since it'll be another two years before you're in this enviable position again. The fact that power-hungry Pluto is dominating your Sagittarius house of fun and games should point to the best places to strut your stuff. But if the playground doesn't hold your interest, maybe taking a risk in the stock market will. Mars leaves for Virgo on the 22nd, so don't dally.

The pressure you're currently feeling could be a lot more intriguing than your customary dread of deadlines. That's because affable Venus in your Gemini midheaven is ever so persuasively calling the shots. If a conflict emerges between an intractable family situation and your next career move, it might get resolved by an unconventional idea from your spouse, business partner or, in some cases, your attorney or agent. Be sure to pay attention to what you learn when your Mercury ruler meets the life-sustaining sun on the 18th.

Doing your best to please your employer or parents will continue to be important for about another month. However, before your nose goes back to the grindstone, take time to enjoy the spiritual and musical highs offered while your artistic Venus ruler and impressionable Neptune align. Venus also puts you in the uncommon position of getting down and dirty with a Scorpio or a Sagittarius or both. Remember: When affectionate Venus is in the sign of the Twins, choosing one appealing candidate over another is no easy task.

A semi-rare occasion when both Mars and Pluto, your co-ruling planets, engage in a rewarding trine occurs on the 14th. So, no matter what actually happens at that time, consider it a positive result of the challenge you rose to when they weren't on such good terms, e.g., around tax time in April. Because Pluto is ensconced in your visionary Sagittarius money house and Mars is in your creative Leo midheaven, it's probably safe to assume that both your income and your reputation are about to expand. Fingers crossed?

Unlike your Scorpio neighbor, you might not reap financial rewards from the supportive trine from Mars to Pluto in your sign; nonetheless, the mixture of physical energy and psychological determination they provide can be the shot needed to get a personal goal up and running. Even though Mercury is retrograde, this still would be a good time to have an adventure; by foot or in your head makes little difference. Since the blast of firepower coming from Mars' biannual trip through heartfelt Leo won't last long, don't blow it.

The good, the let's hope not-so-bad and the beautiful. The good is being able to fully enjoy the warmth and light beamed from the sun in your Cancer marriage house. The not-so-bad might be anticipating what information Mercury digs up while it is retrograde in the sign of the Crab. And the beautiful are the people who show up once magnetic Venus enters Cancer on the 18th. That could well be the red-letter day of the summer for the entire range of Goats, from the Xmas kids to the almost Aquarians. The Capricorn full moon on the 10th is also pretty special.

During the regretfully few weeks that Venus flits through your house of romance and recreation, you'd be wise to drop your aloof attitude and get into the game. Since love is hard to get under the best of circumstances, a fleeting summer romance is surely better than nothing. Those who are firmly attached could use this brief interlude to sweet-talk your sweetheart and have fun fooling around with friends. Soon enough, you'll get a call to return to duty and fulfill the promises you made before Mercury went retrograde.

It might get a little messy, but would you want to miss the drama taking place when compromising Venus opposes passionate Pluto at the top of your chart on the 14th? Some Fish may get caught in the middle of a public confrontation, while the elusive February-born may be able to swim under the radar. Or is it sonar? Mercury returning to your Cancer house of romance suggests an ex is on the way. If not the person in the flesh, then, around the 18th, news you'll want to know about. Come the 22nd, rough-and-ready Mars enters your Virgo marriage house. Put up your dukes!
