The Los Angeles Children's Chorus 20th Anniversary Concert

The original members of the Los Angeles Children’s Chorus would have kids of their own by now. Considered one of the country’s leading children’s choirs, LACC celebrates its two decades with a bash featuring all five choirs — Concert, Intermediate, Apprentice, Preparatory and Chamber Singers — along with a reunion ensemble of alumni. Conducted by artistic director Anne Tomlinson and founding artistic director Rebecca Thompson, the program includes the ethereal Pie Jesu from Gabriel Faure’s Requiem; Dmitri Kabalevsky’s delicate rendering of the Russian lullaby “Good Night”; Benjamin Britten’s Fancy, based on a Shakespearean text; and works by Vivaldi, Brahms, Vaughan Williams and others. Special highlights: the LACC 20th-anniversary commission Jubilant the Music, by Ruth Watson Henderson, and the world premiere of LACC alumna Carolyn Park’s North Pointe. At Ambassador Auditorium, 300 W. Green St., Pasadena; Sat., June 3, 7 p.m.; $20-$60, children 18 & under $10-$30. (626) 793-4231, www.lachildrenschorus.org.
