From its start as a benefit showcase for local choreographers assembled by enthusiastic dance fan Howard Ibach, LADI has evolved into the terpsichorean equivalent of a tasting menu at a fine restaurant. Aided by director Richard Kuller and highly respected Jamie Nichols and Stanley Holden as co-producers, Ibach has gleaned a broad spectrum of local and national dance for the program, with something for everyone (in the best sense of that phrase): tap from Marie de la Palme, Mexican folklorico from Jose Vences and his Grandeza Mexicana Folk Ballet, Nancy Evans Deode on pointe, Ashley Browne with modern/jazz, Stephanie Zaho exploring her Chinese heritage, and modern from Sarah Swenson & Vox Dance Theater, Paula Present’s PTERO Dance Theater and Robin E. Johnson. San Francisco is sending the exciting Viktor Kabaniaev and Dancers (Kabaniaev formerly danced with the Eifman Ballet). Look for KACICO Dance–Kansas City Contemporary Dance from Missouri, led by choreographer Michelle D. Brown. From Arizona, Bella Lewitzky alum Amy Ernst offers two women spinning on discs in RAFT, and New York is sending Kathleen Davidson. One highlight is Titania & Oberon, a pas de deux from Laurence Blake as part of a tribute to revered local ballet teacher Margaret Graham Hills. At El Portal Theater, 5269 N. Lankershim Blvd., N. Hlywd.; Sat., June 3, 8 p.m.; $20. (866) 811-4111 or www.ladi.voiceofdance.com.
