Weekly and New Yorker cartoonist Bruce Eric Kaplan has written (and drawn) a funny new book, Every Person On the Planet: An Only Somewhat Anxiety-Filled Tale for the Holidays (Simon & Schuster, 118 pages, $12 hardback).

Paul Krassner is back (actually he never went away, except to Palm Springs) with a new collection that includes four pieces from the Weekly. It's called One Hand Jerking: Reports From an Investigative Satirist(Seven Stories Press, 320 pages, $17 paperback), and features a foreword by Harry Shearer and an introduction by Lewis Black.

From author and critic Geoff Dyer (Paris Trance,Out of Sheer Rage and But Beautiful) comes The Ongoing Moment (Pantheon, 320 pages, $29 hardback), an inquiry into great photographers and their pictures.
