Hollywood Boulevard came down with a case of hump-night fever last Wednesday as some major TV events caused weekend-style traffic, much of which was of the foot variety: KodakTheaterwas enveloped by the chaos of AmericanIdol’sfinale, and across the street, Mickey and Goofy took the night off at ElCapitan, where HBO celebrated the new season of the Tinseltown-insider comedy Entourage. Some blocks down, the pink-lit eatery GeishaHouse, from the Dolcedudes, marked the debut of pal AshtonKutcher’snew reality show, BeautyandtheGeek(in which smart dorks try to win the hearts of bimbo models... hey, wasn’t that called AverageJoe?). Ultimately, everyone ended up at the serene-looking but slammin’ new club Mood, where promoters JoshRichmanand Hartwell(of party superpowers the Alliance) throw the new weekly called GoodMood. The night, which features exotic décor and DJ SamanthaRonsonspinning spirited rock/hip-hop mixes, obviously has a feng shui the celebs are digging — in just four weeks, it’s attracted every A-list alpha from LindsayLohanto Jay-Z.When we popped in, the early eve was hosted by the new beach mag Salt, though things quickly went from sea-themed to Seacrestas the Idolhost made his way from up the street along with Entourage’sJeremy Piven, Ashlee Simpson, TheO.C.’sRachelBilson,like, allof the Wayansbrothers, and way too many more to fit into this skinny column. Needless to say, Wednesday ain’t the easiest night to get in, but here are four helpful hints: Be early, be a girl, be beguiling and be guyless. Downtown has been rivaling the ’wood for most gregarious gatherings lately, and now that LittleRadiohas moved its headquarters to a loft in an “unsketchy” area near the outskirts of the civic center, looks like we’ll all be heading east more often. On Saturday, the renegade Internet music station marked its move with an intimate show from BlackRebelMotorcycleClub, who unveiled brand-new tunes from their upcoming RCA release. With only 200 tix sold the day before at Sea Level Records, the word-of-mouth event was unexpect-edly spacious — we could see the band from the back of the room, even with all the big shaggy dos in the house. (We recognized two: video director CharlesMehlingand drummer boy BobbyAlt.) Little Radio co-creator DaveConwaytold us these shindigs will be held on a monthly basis and streamed live on the station. You’ll have to wait till July to hear BRMC’s recorded set due to music-leak concerns, but we can reveal a couple of things about the new stuff right here: It’s bluesier, bouncier and (gasp!) blissfully upbeat. We can’t say who’ll be next to rock the space, but expect ’em to be equally big-time. Little Radio’s Web site and MySpace page should offer clues in the coming weeks.
