Spy Games

The literary — and literal?— life of Ross Thomas

I laughed. Then I took a breath and spoke the question that had been on my mind since 1986. “You know . . . there’s one thing I’d like to ask, if you don’t mind. Was Ross ever . . . a spy?”

Rosalie paused a moment. “Not that he ever told me,” she said. And then she smiled.

 

Roger L. Simon, author of the Moses Wine detective novels as well as several screenplays, wrote the introduction to the reissue of Ross Thomas’Missionary Stew, due out this fall from St. Martin’s Press.
