Warhol Around Town

ANDY CINEMA

MOCA claims to be presenting the largest survey of Warhol's films ever shown. Critic Bruce Hainley curated a roughly chronological series ranging from the artist's early experimentation with silent film and static subjects to his innovative use of narrative and cinematic portraiture.

ANDY DOES HOLLYWOOD

Beginning July 31, the American Cinematheque, in conjunction with MOCA, presents "Andy Warhol Does Hollywood," a film series curated by critic Bruce Hainley exploring Warhol's meditation on stars, film genres and celebrity culture.

Films scheduled include: Tarzan and Jane Regained . . . Sort Of, Blow Job, Kiss, Lupe, Poor Little Rich Girl, Hedy, Lonesome Cowboys, Horse, Kitchen, Beauty #2, Bike Boy, The Chelsea Girls, My Hustler, Closet, Imitation of Christand More Milk Yvette.

"Andy Warhol: Celebrity Polaroids" is a collection of 23 portraits taken by Warhol during the '70s and '80s using a Polaroid Big Shot camera.
