What You Can Do to Help the Janitors- and Your City

A number of food banks for striking janitors have gone up around town, where donations of canned and other nonperishable foods are welcome. Donations are tax-deductible, as are direct financial contributions to either the food bank or the janitors’ strike fund. Checks for the strike fund (non-deductible) should be addressed to:

Canned goods and other nonperishable food items can be dropped off at the L.A. Weekly, 6715 Sunset Blvd., in Hollywood, from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. The following food banks are open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.:
